About
"Songs of grief, love, and the human experience."
John Armistead is a Nashville-based songwriter who writes about life, loss, and the human experience. Much of his recent work is shaped bythe grief community, bereaved parents specifically, and how ways tomake space for sorrow without turning away from it.
Drawing from Americana and country traditions, his songs are story-driven and unvarnished, with echoes of artists like Counting Crows, Hozier, and Sheryl Crow. Whether he’s writing about yearning, togetherness, or the fragility of life, his focus stays on honesty over polish.
Armistead often performs with a rotating group of Nashville musicians or simply on his own with an acoustic guitar. Either way, the atmosphere is open, grounded, and emotionally real-a place where people can show up as they are and leave feeling part of something bigger.
